Note that this project was completed with the collaboration and hard work of many students, some of which have already graduated SLU. These are just some of the people that were crucial to the project; they interned at the Space Systems Research Laboratory over the summer of 2019 to complete the integration, testing and software development of Argus-02.

Jeffrey Kelley

Project Manager

Jeffrey is from Prairieville, Louisiana, and is currently studying toward a degree in Aerospace Engineering. His nominal trajectory is to pursue a Master's degree at Saint Louis University, where he can develop his skills in his primary interest areas of space systems engineering and integration.

Sergio Bernabeu Peñalba

Ground Operations & Communications Lead

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Sergio studied at SLU Madrid for 1.5 years prior to transferring to the St. Louis campus. He is passionate about orbital mechanics (and, overall, space) and wants to pursue a doctoral degree and get his pilot’s license. He wants to work on space environmentalism or human spaceflight and eventually become an astronaut.

Sergio has worked on Argus-02 since its initial proposal in the Spring of 2018. Although initially he worked on the sizing and requirements of the power subsystem, he transitioned into Ground Operations and Communications by the end of 2018. Since, he has worked on re-building and updating the ground station at SLU, designing the communications protocol for Argus-02 and assisted in its integration and testing.

Andrew Wagner

Software Lead

Andrew is from Dubuque, Iowa, and is currently studying Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Computer Science. He is currently enrolled in the Accelerated BS/MS Program here at SLU, and after finishing his Master’s Degree he hopes to work in Spacecraft Systems Engineering or Operations.

Highlander

Connor Highlander

Integration & Systems Lead

Connor is from Maryville Illinois and is at SLU pursuing a major in Aerospace Engineering. He has an interest in Integration, Testing and systems engineering and is looking forward to starting his career as a systems engineer with Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems when he graduates.
